Unboxing your Nolah mattress is fast and easy, so you can sleep in your new bed the day it arrives! However, mattresses are large items, so you should exercise caution while lifting, positioning, and unwrapping your mattress. We recommend two adults complete the setup process.
Here's how to unbox an Original, Signature, Evolution, Natural or Nurture step by step:
Step #1
Once the package arrives, bring it in and lay the box flat on the floor next to your bed frame or foundation. Open one end of the box, and pull out the mattress roll.
Step #2
With the plastic still on, lift the mattress roll and place it on top of your bed frame or foundation. Line it up with your base so the mattress has ample space to unroll and expand.
Step #3
Remove the outer layer of shrink wrap by hand. Before the next step, prepare for the mattress to unravel and expand quickly. Our mattresses are compressed for shipping, so they exert force as they unwrap.
Step #4
Use scissors to carefully cut open the inner layer of plastic wrap. As soon as air enters the wrap, the mattress will start to expand and flatten. Once it lays flat, shift the mattress to align it with your foundation if necessary.
That’s It! Give your new mattress a few hours to breathe and expand fully. Then, you can dress the bed and enjoy your first night of elevated sleep.
Here's how to unbox the Alaskan King mattress step by step:
Box Contents
Box 1: Compressed roll with two mattress core quadrants
Box 2: Compressed roll with two mattress core quadrants
Box 3: One compressed foam topper and one mattress shell
Step 1:
Open all three boxes and remove their contents. Leave each component in its individual packaging for now.
Step 2:
Unwrap the mattress shell and unzip it to separate the top panel and fabric border. Set the top panel aside for later and spread the fabric border out on top of your foundation. Make sure the four corners line up with the base.
Step 3:
Start with one of the mattress rolls and place it on the ground. Note that the plastic roll contains two quadrants stacked on top of each other and then compressed. Make sure there's enough space for them to fully unravel before opening the plastic—once air enters the wrap, the mattresses will expand quickly and may exert force. Carefully cut the plastic wrap, and let the mattresses unroll and expand until they lay flat.
Step 4:
Lift one of the mattress quadrants and place it on top of your foundation within the fabric border. Then, line it up in one of the four corners of the bed. Do the same with the second quadrant; the order does not matter, as all the quadrants are identical.
Step 5:
Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the remaining mattress core quadrants. Together, they’ll create a 108-inch by 108-inch square.
Step 6:
Grab the mattress topper roll and position it on top of the mattress core quadrants. Be prepared for the roll to unravel and carefully cut the plastic wrap. Once the topper lays flat, discard the plastic and line the topper up with the quadrants so they meet in all four corners. Ensure the word “Medium” printed on the topper is right side up.
Step 7:
Now take the top panel from the mattress shell. With the backing facing downward, line it up and lay it flat on top of the mattress topper.
Step 8:
Pull up the border fabric so it covers the bed's edges. To secure the top panel, zip it to the top edge of the border fabric all around the mattress perimeter.
That's It!
Give the mattress a few hours to fully expand, then enjoy the royal treatment of an Alaskan King size bed.
